Welcome to Greenwich

Sophisticated villages with exceptional homes and amenities

Greenwich is the sophisticated jewel of Connecticut’s Gold Coast. Within a less then 50-minute train ride of New York’s Grand Central Station, this historic and prestigious community offers a private retreat for some of the most affluent international families and individuals. Greenwich is comprised of several distinct villages, each of which offers its own unique appeal. From the picturesque waterfront communities of Byram, Cos Cob and Riverside to the timeless charm of Old Greenwich, this is a community like no other. Greenwich presents numerous beaches and parks, renown riding trails mapped out and maintained by the Greenwich Riding Trails Association and a plethora of golf courses and yacht clubs both private and public.  Greenwich is famous around the world for its quiet, leafy streets lined with breathtaking homes. Properties include many classic mid century Cape Cods and Colonials along with newer homes that elegantly maintain the community’s classic appeal.

The winding streets of Central Greenwich feature upscale shopping and world-class restaurants in a walkable area surrounding the central north-south artery of Greenwich Avenue. Here, you’ll find boutiques from internationally renowned design houses (such as Hermes) offering the finest in luxury apparel and accessories. Richards is a family-owned fashion store where personal style advisors provide expert advice on putting together the perfect outfit. There are also stores such as Baccarat for discovering beautifully designed decorative pieces for the home.

Exceptional restaurants are dotted throughout each of Greenwich’s distinctive communities and villages. The Relais & Châteaux Thomas Henkelmann Restaurant at the gorgeous Victorian-era Homestead Inn is one of many highlights. Guests at Thomas Henkelmann enjoy outstanding service while dining on sublime French-style cuisine prepared with contemporary flair in an elegant old-world setting.

Greenwich also provides its residents with an abundance of annual events and community gatherings. Greenwich Town Party in May brings thousands of locals together to enjoy two stages of live music from top local bands and famous touring acts such as Dave Matthews and Paul Simon. Greenwich Polo Club has a world-class polo venue that hosts tournaments such as the Greenwich Cup, American Cup, and East Coast Open. The Greenwich International Film Festival features a diverse lineup of screenings and talks along with associated networking events and star-studded parties and premieres attended by Christy Turlington, Renee Zellweger and Kathie Lee Gifford. The Greenwich Wine + Food Festival in October showcases the culinary skills of more than 300 chefs.
